Enrolment Procedure

Please note:
All students coming from foreign countries must take an admission examination, that is to say their knowledge of the Italian language is tested (unless diplomas of the Italian language and culture issued by authorised Institutions are provided), and a test of bent for arts.

NON-EU STUDENTS RESIDING ABROAD

 

Where to hand the application
The candidates must present the original pre-application (
Form_A_bis - I level; Form_F_bis - II level), filled in clearly plus two copies exclusively to the Italian diplomatic representation competent for the territory of origin within 5th June 2009 specifying the Institute AFAM (Rome University of Fine Arts, Libera Accademia di Belle Arti di Roma, Via Benaco, 2 – 00199 Roma), and the course (Academic course of I or II level in “Visual Arts and Show Subjects” with the chosen lines of studies: Painting, Set Design, Sculpture, Decoration, Graphics or Cinema and Television Arts); application for only one course is allowed.

The authorisation of the Consular Authority is indispensable.

Diploma of I level

Diploma of II level

  • Original school-leaving certificate (or substitute certificate) valid for the enrolment at the University in the country in which it was obtained

  • Original degree from the Academy of Fine Arts (or title similar to arts and fine arts studies obtained from a University)

  • Any certificate attesting partial studies, in case the school-leaving title was achieved after a period of less than 12 years, as specified in Form_1, or in case shortening of the course is requested (in this latter case, the certificate must specify the exams passed and include official documentation concerning the programme of these exams)

  • Certificate issued by the competent Academic Authority - legalised by the Italian Diplomatic Representation – attesting the exams passed with relative marks as well as the detailed programmes and hours of the didactic theoretical and practical activities for each line of study necessary to the achievement of the title

  • Official translation and “Value declaration” in Italian of the Certificate or Diploma (issued exclusively by the Italian Consular Representation competent for the country in which the title was achieved)

  • Certificate of birth, citizenship, identity and domicile

  • N° 4 passport-size photographs, one of which authenticated by the competent Italian representation

  • Personal data processing aquittance (L. D. no. 196/2003).

  • Health insurance for health treatments and hospitalization as provided for by the Italian law

  • Public Act certifying the means of support of the candidate during his stay in Italy

  • Visa on the passport indicating “for study reasons” (later the residence permit will be requested which however is condition necessary to the regularization of the enrolment). (*)

  • Curriculum Vitae with a short description of the academic diploma or degree thesis (max 10 type-written pages in Italian)

 

  • Paper or photographic Portfolio of the didactic works and any other multimedia support

  • Any paper or photographic Portfolio of professional works and projects and any other multimedia support

(*)) Only the holders of passports with the specific visa for study reasons and of the residence permit, or receipt from the authorities of the request of permit, will be allowed to the admission examination.

All documents in foreign languages must be provided translated into Italian by the Italian Diplomatic/Consular Representation competent for the territory of residence or for the territory of the country in which the educational qualification certificate was issued.

The Italian Representation will return the original title of study with the consular legalization (unless this kind of act is exempted on account of International agreements and conventions) and the “Value Declaration” in loco, sending to the AFAM Institutions chosen by the candidate legalized copy.

Applications for admission to the grading tests necessary to enrol in the courses or applications for enrolment without the necessary documentation will not be accepted.

EU STUDENTS RESIDING ANYWHERE

NON-EU STUDENTS LEGALLY RESIDING IN ITALY

ITALIAN STUDENTS WITH A FOREIGN DEGREE

 

The following regulations concern also the citizens of the following countries:

Cyprus, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Cec Republic, Slovenia, Slovakia, Hungaryy, Norway, Island, Liechtenstein, Switzerland, San Marino and political refugees, who can request assistance to the International Social Services (Via Veneto, 96 – 00187 ROMA), personnel of the foreign diplomatic representations and international organisms with seat in Italy, accredited to the Italian State or the Holy See, and their relatives limited to consorts and children.

Where to hand the application
The candidates can hand the application for enrolment (
Form_B_bis - I level; Form_G_bis - II level), directly to the secretariat in Via Benaco 2 – 00199 Roma within the 15th October of each year indicating the Institute AFAM (Rome University of Fine Arts, Libera Accademia di Belle Arti di Roma, Via Benaco, 2 – 00199 Roma), and the course (Academic course of I or II level in “Visual Arts and Show Subjects” with the chosen lines of studies: Painting, Set Design, Sculpture, Decoration, Graphics or Cinema and Television Arts) and enclosing the same documentation as requested for the enrolment of Italian students; application for only one course is allowed.

In order to obtain the above-mentioned consular acts, the candidates must send to the Italian Representations the educational qualification certificates already legalized by the competent authorities of the country in which the title was issued, where provided for by the local laws.
